Bleet - Saturday Night Live

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with my life. But I had to laugh when I walked through the house a few minutes ago.

JD's mom lives with us and is an early-service church-goer so she's sound asleep. JD worked grave last night and is snoring in the bedroom. Henry, the lab, is stretched out on the sofa. And me? I'm in my workroom sewing and listening to an audiobook.

It's 8:22 pm on Saturday night.

Another wild and crazy night here on the homestead. I feel lucky: this kind of compatibility is hard to find!

Bleet - Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays from all of us at The Haphazard Homestead! JD and I had a very peaceful and relaxing day including a leisurely pancake breakfast, a few presents and general lazing about.

How did you spend your day? Did you have a big family gathering? Or more low-key?

Bleet - Monetizing Your Blog

I've decided to try out Google AdSense. I hope they aren't too distracting from your reading. Please let me know what you think in the comments below. Thanks!

A Blog Tweet - A Bleet, If You Will - Fall Is Here

What a lovely day today! It's rare that we get weather like this on the western side of the state - it's sunny and the air is crisp and the wind is blowing cascades of leaves off the trees. I am reminded of fall in New Mexico where I grew up: it's not cold yet but you can feel it coming.

The goats scattered around in the middle pasture are gleaming white against the green grass. The dog is exhilarated by the brisk winds and is chasing his ball around the front yard. And when I walk inside I smell the sweet scent of drying apples in the kitchen.

I'm sorry to see the end of summer but I do love fall days like today.
